We invite you to participate in the HCI-SEE Workshop: Assessing the State of HCI Research and Practice in South-Eastern Europe. The workshop will be a part of the SouthCHI conference and will take place between 1st and 3rd of July 2013 in Maribor, Slovenia.
Summary and Theme of the Workshop
The HCI-SEE workshop is organized for the first time by the Slovenian HCI community to assess the state of HCI research and practice in South-Eastern Europe. The target audience of the workshop are the HCI researchers from academia and industry as well as HCI enthusiasts from South-Eastern Europe.
HCI-SEE Workshop is part of the SouthCHI conference which is organized by the University of Maribor in cooperation with ACM Slovenia and IEEE Slovenia.
About the SouthCHI Conference
SouthCHI, a new to-be-launched series of conferences is focusing on every aspect of HCI and is addressing participants mainly from Southern Europe. Like NordiCHI, SouthCHI will also be a biannual event, being organized in the odd years, and will visit South European countries.
The venue of SouthCHI 2013 is Maribor, Slovenia, a city located just 40 miles south of Graz, Austria. Maribor is the Cultural Capital of Europe 2012. In this occasion, SouthCHI will be also supported by ACM Slovenia and Slovenian Chapter of IEEE Education Society.
Topics of Interest
HCI-SEE Workshop accepts short papers presenting results of original research performed in the broad field of Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), which emphasize new developments. Papers should present significant contributions to HCI research in South-East Europe. HCI-SSE Workshop also accepts demonstrations of application of original research in practice in the field of HCI.
Authors are invited to submit complete papers which are neither published nor under review elsewhere. The specific topics embraced by the workshop include all aspects of Human-Computer Interaction, but are not limited to, the following ones:

- multitouch and other tangible interaction,

Submission
All papers must be written in English and submitted in PDF format.
Submissions will be rejected without review if they:
- do not contain 4 to 12 pages;
- violate the double-blind policy (authors do not know the names of the reviewers of their papers, and reviewers do not know the names of the authors);
- violate the formatting instructions in a significant way.
Submissions should be formatted according the LNCS format. Even pages should be submitted in the camera-ready version (4, 6, 8, 10 or 12). They must be fully anonymous, with no author names, affiliations, acknowledgments, or obvious references. The submission should begin with a title, a short abstract, and a list of key words. Please submit your contribution through the SouthCHI conference Conftool submission system.
Publication
All submissions will be reviewed by at least three independent reviewers from workshop HCI-SEE programme committee and selected reviewers. Accepted contributions will be printed in the Lecture Notes in Computer Science (LNCS) Series published by Springer and indexed in Thomson Reuters Citation Index.
